The A frame on our van , with the position of the bases for the gas cylinders , makes it difficult to attach the Hayman Reese.Shifting the cylinders is not an option.Anyone had this problem & is it possible to extend either the draw bar or A frame.

Priscilla G,

Instead of causing yourself a lot of grief with engineering certificates, altering the centre of balance and costing lots of dollars. Why don't you do away with one bottle and mount the other one in between the A frame out of the road of the Hayman Reese.

We only have one gas bottle on our van and don't have a problem with it running out. I just keep an eye on it.

Have a good one,
RA.

Gday,
Its quite possible and not even hard, but you have to be carefull you dont muck up the balance of the whole set up.

Gooday,
I guess you are referring to the Weight Distribution bars?, if so, they are available in different lengths, perhaps you should research that option first.

Priscilla, if you are talking about weight distribution bars, I had the same issue with my Jayco Expanda - the bars were about 10mm too long and (just) snagged the gas bottle mountings when I was trying to lift them on (although okay once at rest in the "stirrup").

I then discovered the bars were not rated for the weight of my van anyway and had to change to an EazLift weight distribution hitch which has chain links BELOW the A frame so the problem was solved.

I wouldn't want to forego one of my gas bottles (van has a hot water system and shower).
