Hi - currently have a 60 series sahara auto diesel which needs to be replaced. Vehicle will be used 70% city / 30% travel. Needs to carry 6 people. Vehicle also needs to tow a caravan occasionally. Probably stick to a landcruiser as like Toyotas but can be swayed. And auto only.
80 series or 100 series?
Are particular years for 80 and 100's better/worse?
Petrol/Gas?
With regards to Kms - havent owned a petrol engine for a very long time - is lower always better?
I have had to changeover 2 auto gearboxes - both on vehicles that had done over 450000kms. When would auto gearboxes expect to fail on average for 80 or 100 series?
Did see one 96 80 series decked out with everything I need but has done about 311000Kms. Is this too much?
Thanks for any recommendations.

One other thing - best thing to do with the current 60 series 1986 sahara - sell it unroadworthied, trade-it in (probably get minimal for it), or sell it for parts.
Has an excellent auto gearbox, and all exterior parts are good, bullbar, roofracks, most interior items complete.

Hiya - when you say first of the 100s is that 1998, 1999 - totally out of date when it comes to cruisers now.
Is an 1996 80 series any good or still had its problems?
I have noticed there are quite a few 100 series on carsales - just finding the right one is the thing.
