hi everybody
my new project is on the way from Japan.
It's a 3.1 liter diesel, 3.7 tons, 4x4 on single tires, so high and long,
must have been fun to drive it in the snow in Japan mountains.
wondering if there is somebody who drives one over here already or
has any input regarding stronger tires aso
Every info highly appreciated, want to be best prepared when that thing hits the compliance workshop :o)
Cheers
Chris

With all due respect, importing a 'special' one of vehicle like this..... tyres along with many other items would be things you investigate prior to importing....just my thoughts.
Wishing you all the best for your project

Hi Tony,
tires in particular are fitted as 6.50R16.
This are thin MS mud and snow tyres and the will be
replaced by the workshop.
But into what would be best?
I woild like tubeless and wider for more weight and sand

You could try Zupps trucks in
Brisbane. They were getting larger super singles made up for the Mitsu and Isuzus at one stage, but pretty sure it ended up too big a headache. Being a commercial vehicle there is pretty much nil scope for this type of mod any more (qld anyway).

G'day 184
the Isuzu 150 4x4 is not known here as such but it could be a NPS 250/300 4x4 and there is a wealth of info available on www.allterrainwarriors.com.au, they sell 19.5" single wheel conversions (all legal)and
suspension upgrades. What year model is your truck?
Regards
Adrian

thanks guys for your input.
Because never officially sold over here the
Elf has only the rim and tyre size, the compliance workshop pits in the papers.
So I stay with what it comes with and let them install Toyo M131
to have at least something sold against the weight.
Oh man, this are pure highway tyres!
Now I really need the 4x4

many thanks for the info guys,
@David , great page, they will be helpful
@qbc will
check what they say
and yes, in Japan its called Elf 150, over here it would be possibly the smallest NPR?
I beleave that camper is a bit to high, axle to short, if the track is narrow and not flat, I would hit everything on the side. apologies, my English
I drive a 2.40 meter Matilda fibercamper on a 2x4 Hiace, same thing.
So a
suspension upgrade might be to much, but there might be a chance to
get rid of the tubes and get rims for wider tyres baybe in alloy

Would the 3.1 Lt motor be the same as the ones in my MUs? 92Kw/275Nm standard, I know how to make them go faster hehehehehehe.

Sounds like fun, whats an MU?
Found an engine lineup of all Isuzus, it's an engine later upgraded with an 3.0 turbo charged, which was used also in the Frontera. That's a 4x4 SUV in Europe.
I misplaced that list but come back with that.
The Elf is a NHS 1,5 t 4x4, domestic ? and obviously only for the Japan market.
I came up with that question what tyre, because that default tube tyres ... pure Highway!
That
shop came up with the equivalent 245/75r16 (go12at for example), just need to find tubeless rims

Ah, a MU Rodeo, looks like the same engine
Isuzu J Engine
The 4JG2 is a 3.1 L (3,059 cc), 95.4mm
bore x 107mm stroke version with indirect injection. It replaced the 4JB1-T in the Isuzu Bighorn (Trooper II) and Mu/Wizard (Rodeo) in most markets.[10] This engine was upgraded from mechanical injection to electronically controlled mechanical injection.
The 4JX1 is a 3.0L direct injection diesel engine, turbo intercooled, which replaced the 4JG2 in the Isuzu Bighorn (Trooper).
