I am looking at semi permanent HWS system for a camper. The Aqua cube looks ok, there also seems to be a few similar ones.
I am not interested in the Coleman HWS. The proprietary gas bottles turn me off and a friend has one, he is always fiddling with it's batteries etc to get it working.
Is the cube any good? There is surprisingly little about it on the
forum.

We have one and although we haven't had much chance to get out and use it we are happy with it. We have also had the Coleman HWS and had 3 replaced under warranty. Always seemed to be a problem wiith them.
The cube is smaller and fits in better in the camper, it is easy to hook up and have ready for a hot shower and we can use the camper battery to run it not like the Coleman where you need to charge the battery.
The one down side is it is not possible to get super hot water for really dirty dishes as it is with the Coleman - I guess this is a safety thing. I just boil the kettle if I need really hot water. It certainly gets hot enough for showers and general use of hot water though.
Cheers

I've had my Aqua Cube for almost two years. I haven't been real happy with it so far as it runs hot them cold continuously. When I complained and returned the unit they told me it was a water flow problem and replaced the shower head. Thinking the problem was rectified I put it away until my next trip and found the problem wasn't fixed. I have since found on another
forum about them that others have had success with disconnecting the temp sensor and connecting the two sensor wires together. This I found runs the flame continuously while the water flows. I found that it feels hot enough on the lowest setting to shower but doesn't take much more ajustment on a higher setting to get really hot so word of warning don't let the kids use it unattended as it could burn. The sensor that was unplugged is I believe set to 50 degrees then cuts out. So with no sensor and by ajusting the flame knob you change how hot it gets.
AGAIN I WARN ANYONE MAKING THIS MOD TO THIER UNIT BE VERY CARFUL WHEN SETTING UP FOR SHOWERS. SO
TEST IT YOURSELF BEFORE ANYONE USES IT.
I still have to do some testing of temps reached from low to high without sensor being connected. Personally I feel the company who makes these units should recall all the units to have the sensor problem fixed. Instead they fed me buls..t about the shower head flow being the problem, or did they even look at it. Only they know and life has taught me that you can't trust companies to do the right thing when it affects their hip pocket. I make no appoligies for how they have made me feel about this product but all in all if this works out with this mod it could be a good and more versitle unit to the Coleman HWS.
