Hi All,
Fairly new to 4x4. Just wondering of any good beginner tracks or weekend adventures you could recommend?

Have done a lot of the Toolangi tracks.

Have a 95 jackaroo
Cooper St Tyres
Air Compressor
Normal Recovery Gear
Hand Winch
UHF Communications
HN5i Navigator

Also happy to tag along if anyone is interested?

Cheers

Dicko

Hi Dicko,

I would suggest that you google your local 4wd clubs. Sort through to find one that looks like your sort of thing e.g. Mud, rocks and recoverys, Family orientated, Touring etc and give them a call.
You can usually do several tag alongs without committing. You could even try a few clubs to find one that suits.
This will give you regular trips, Driving and recovery skills, local knowledge, safety in numbers and like minded people to travel with.

Cheers
Craig

Gday Lance
There is plenty ofroom for a new person. Normaly the day will start at 9.30 ish and we will be back in camp for lunch. Then off again for some. In the evening there is usually a chat around the camp fire . I am not sure what happens on Sunday as I go home mid morning.

Gday Dicko
I'll be going up to the Pyrenees on Friday afternoon if you want to follow , or if you want, come up on Saturday morning and join in for the day. We usually go for a family type drive and have a bit of fun . You can camp with us as well, just be careful of the bloke in the blue nissan .

An easy High Country weekend would be Mansfield, Pineapple Flat, King hut, Lake Cobbler, Craig's hut, Bindaree Falls, Bluff Hut, Brocks Rd to Sheepyard flat.
The Grampions have a network of easy tracks as do the Big & Little Deserts.
As already mentioned joining a club is an excellent way to explore the state with like minded people.
Cheers Craig...............
