Has anyone changed the seal on the door frame of their caravan?

We have recently bought a second hand caravan and find the rubber seal on the inner door frame has been bent and folds inside the hinge of the door when closed, thus breaking the weatherproof seal and allowing rain to come in onto the step of the van. I have tried to straighten the seal but it keeps going back to the bent form it's obviously been in for some considerable time. First of all, is it possible to straighten the rubber seal, (I'm a bit apprehensive to apply heat to the rubber) and if not, how difficult is it to replace the seal or would it need to be done professionally? I would appreciate any comments/suggestions you might have. Thanks

is it the type of seal that you can remove from the frame?
if it is i would pull the whole seal out and put the bent bit at the bottom.
but im scotish

Unfortunately it doesn't look like we can just pull it out and put the bent part at the bottom - though it's a great idea (my husband is scottish too!!!) The seal sits in a track which is part of the door frame and which has been crimped top and bottom, so it appears that it can't just be pulled out.

You can purchase the door seal rubber from your local caravan parts dealer.
It's not expensive.

I'll follow it up on Monday. Hopefully our local caravan dealer will have the seal and it won't be too much of a hassle to put the new one in.
