CSR May 2013 Anyone?

Hi crew,

We are planning a trip up (South to North) the CSR in May 2013 and are looking for 1 or two travelling buddies.

Looking at about 15 days on the actually track starting 25-May-2013.

We are a reasonably experienced and well equipped off road couple in our late 40s.

We have done the Simpson Desert (West to East) French Line and Cape York.

We have a 200 Series LC towing a Kimberley Karavan and intend taking it with us.

(NB: Not trying to invite a debate on the merits of towing a van on the CSR)

Obviously choosing travelling buddies for a trip like this is a bit like a short term marriage so this is not an open to all invitation but an opportunity to start a discussion to see if we are going to get on well enough to be able to rely on each other if we need to.

The best outcome would be to find a couple similar to ourselves. Reasonably self reliant but willing to be part of a team for 15 or so days.

We are in Melbourne but I don't think thats a vital issue.

Post any general comments here - but if you are interested then send me an email (Via Profile)

Thanks heaps.

Have you considered joining a club to sus out some company. No need to say anything to start. And in the meantime you can get some actually trips done with the members and that may help sussing out some company for a longer trip. I would say the membership fees would be a good investment.

Gary,

If you are going to tow a camper you might want to revise your time on the track.
3 weeks would be more of a comfortable time frame. This will allow time to stay put for a day or two at some of the better camp sites. It will also mean that you will have time to carry out any repairs that will be required.

Thanks Wayne,

Timetable is flexible and allows plenty of time if required.
