Hi Colin C here. Ive just bought a 97 explorer 4.0 lt sohc I,m trying to get it registered but my rwc guy can,t find the engine number or where to locate it. what I,ve been told it,s the last 8 digits of the VIN number and it,s stamped on the engine block, the transmission, the chassis rail and on the 4x4 transfer case but the numbers I find don,t match the VIN numbers. Couild someone tell me where to find this number so I canget it rego,d thanks Col

Good old google....left rear of engine block ...you will have to use a mirror
