hi

I am about to get a new TV, saw a marine style combo yesterday,
a Fusion 20inch with DVD player and dvbt receiver internal.
Lots of features but with 600AUD bit expensive.
I was using an Aldi Vivid LCDTV for 2 years now (250$), does a great job.
Now I am looking for one with inbuilt dvbt settop box, thinking
that an external one does draw unnecessary energy out of the battery, and probably can't even fet with 12v directly like the TV.
Also one remote instead of two!

In other caravans at a dealer I saw Talvor and Majestic TVs, don't know if STB internal.

Has anyone seen a cheap and good working LCD combo like this?

Lots of motorhomers and caravanners are using Kogan HD LED tv's with integral DVD's, pretty cheap and quite a few come with a 12v cord to plug straight into 12v as well.
We've got a 19" one and it works very well.

I have a Kogan 22" LED LCD TV with PVR - picture quality is very good - sound is atrocious and will only play movies in a limited range of formats.

The tuner is very weak - works fine on my house antenna but with rabbit ears exceptionally poor and will not pick up some channels - now I agree rabbit ears are not the best but I am on 5km in direct line of site from the TV transmitters (I can see them but the TV cannot).

Hi 184,
Plenty of good combo units around these days. Kogan have a good range at good prices. Watch out for some LED TVs as the viewing angle is very poor and you will be disappointed with one if watching in a caravan. Straight LCD has much better viewing angle.
Enjoy

Just go to any electrical store. There are lots of different brands and sizes of digital HD TVs available.

I went for a Kogan, sound is not great but the rest of the features are, has PVE, built in DVD, its LED, works off 12 and 240 light and good viewing angle, we plug in a set of computer speakers and alls well.

Also they have specials every Frugal Friday

Hi,

I purchased a new 19" nameless brand LCD TV with built in DVD player on RVdomain.com for $240. It runs on both 240 and 12v.

At first I wasn't sure if I'd done the right thing but so far it works great. The picture is very clear and the sound is good considering I'm only using the small built in speakers. There are connections for external speakers.

It came with a 12 month warrantee. Hopefully I won't need to use it.
