Hi all, wonder if any one out there could suggest a caravan
park that has natural attractions nearby, walking, swimming safely, sight seeing, and not too off the beaten track to access some shopping, for our Christmas-new year period? Have really enjoyed the Far North Qld and are now on Central coast making our way to Brissy. Heading back south to home in Melb slowly....
Have started doing the internet search and phone and ask around but thought someone on Explore Oz might have suggestions. We love being in a Nature Resort but at this time of year would prefer to be able to get to shops without driving huge km and internet and mobile access-there that slims down the options doesn't it.
So far have tried Hervey Bay and some in
Brisbane and surround but can't get one that covers the whole period.
Any suggestions welcome. Oh, we're amenable for up to an hour or two drive in necessary.

Look around the
Boonah /
Beaudesert area about 1 hour south of
Brisbane.
Canungra is another area not too far away from Bris yet close to the bush
Depends on what exactly you are looking for in caravan parks and the natural experience.

Hi Nicki
We were thinking about doing the Theme Parks on the
gold coast and staying at the Scenic Rim Adventure
Park. Might be worth having a look at

Thanks Alan, Sharon and Jorgen for your responses. Much appreciated and am following up-the scenic rim and Canugara looks promising in terms of our schedule and interests. Thanks all anyway.

It is a busy time! You might get a spot at Neurum
Creek Camping Ground just out of
Kilcoy. Pleasant shady sites and decent swimming and canoing in the
creek last time we were there. Some powered sites. Plenty of space for kids. They have a web site.
Peach Trees campgroung in the
State Forest just out of
Kilcoy is a great spot but likely to be booked out.
Maleny is a very attractive small town in the hills with decent shopping and lovely countryside.
Well worth a visit to see something a bit different from the general Sunshine Coast. There is a caravan
park and showground
camping. You should have a good chance of getting in there. It is about a 40mins drive down to the coast at Caloundra.
There are also a couple of caravan parks in the Glass House Mountain area that look OK but we have never stayed there. Could be a bit hot at that time perhaps. Lynne
