100 series roof rack mount

g'day all
my 100 series has'nt got roof racks(it may have had before i got it)my question is should the threaded mounting holes be sealed,bolt,plug or what ever.

Hi Toohey,
My 100 series had roof bars on and I replaced them with a roof rack / boat loader. They guy who fitted it (who also manufactured the rack) made sure he sealed each bolt (x6)
well with silicone. He said if I ever remove the rack to ensure I sealed the bolts very
well again otherwise
water will leak down the bolts into the roof and the fist I would know about it was a stain appearing on the hood lining. I think the original bolts with the Toyota roof bars had rubber washers/seals fitted.
