Hi all,

This may be of help to some of you. I found a website called "www.yr.no" It give accurate times when you can expect rain or temp in your area (not just a 50% chance of rain tomorrow).

Cheers Wilko

Gee Wilko, I reckon bom.gov.au can do a better job than a Norwegian site, try Rainfall next 24 hours.

Wilko

If The Bureau of Meteorology can't provide accurate data,, why can this lot?

Most of the private weather companies purchase climate/weather data and model output from the Bureau and or other similar organisations around the world.
They can't afford to run the models and data collection centres, though they may be able to provide the output in a format more easily understood by the public than the boffins at the Bureau
They may provide a time, but it's still a guess.
A Bureau of Meteorology product called a Meteograms does what you have described, you get to it via their Agricultural section called SILO. It's been available for years.

We used to pay the Bureau thousands of dollars for services, now we get those services and more for a fraction of the price through companies like Weatherzone.

When it is cyclone season I start on this website
http://www.tropicalstormrisk.com/
Then go to bom when it is close enought that they track it.
I don't think you can go past bom. Especially when they are getting close!!

I love this little Weather Tracker, it sits in the top right corner on the desktop, but can be shown over the top of webpages if needed. has warnings, Cyclone Reports, etc, etc.

Get it Here

Another for Weatherzone tracker. When I don't have it on screen it sits near the clock with the current temp and flashes when any warnings are updated.

Hi Wilko,
Hoping this finds you well
Thanks for that, always looking to check weather.
I really needed Tuesday,Wed & Thurs this week in Melbourne. & there it was.
I've been told that Japan has their own weather channel on Telly, to make apologies for getting it wrong LOL. Don't know about Norway but Aus could do with one to ,I think. But would be like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted!
Take care, safe travels.
Bye for now, Ma.

Well I have to say that so far I am impressed Wilko.
This morning before I went out on my pushie I would have sworn it was going to rain here in Cairns. I jumped on that weather site "www.yr.no" & they said it wasn't.
Being the type who has little faith in weather forecasters I was prepared for rain. This means I put my cheque book & phone in a press seal sandwich bag before I left.
I kept looking up over the 3 hours I was out & about, all the while thinking it was going to rain.
Well it is now 10 to 4 in the afternoon & it still hasn't rained.
They got that one right, so far.
