Hi,
I am looking in to a Scanguage and was wandering if any one has a Scanguage as
well as a secondary/aux
tank.
With my
tank I have to pump fuel across when the main
tank is low. How would you use the Scanguage then.
All I can think of is you say it is full again or something but as I have never used one I am not sure.

I have a scan gauge with two tanks. Luckily I have two fuel gauges as
well.
I just add the total of fuel and input that into my scan gauge so the gauge thinks I have one big
tank. I then just input how much fuel I add when fueling up. Might only fill one
tank. Doesn't matter - scan gauge will still tell me how far I can go, how much fuel is left etc......
Cheers

I should add - I usually fill both tanks just to stop all that fiddling around with the scan gauge and I can just click 'fill
tank'.

For the fuel side of scanguage to work correctly you have to fill your tank/s each time - does not work with partial fills.

Thanks guys,
I normally fill both tanks at the same time so your approach will work

Rich.... think of it as if you were filling your main
tank at a servo..... all you are doing is transferring your fuel from the storage
tank in your vehicle to your main
tank in your vehicle as opposed to transferring your fuel from a storage
tank underground at the servo to your main
tank in your vehicle.
If you vehicle transferred fuel automatically then you can work it out on total fuel... if transferring fuel manually you you have to calculate how much fuel you put into your main
tank each time.

Yep,
It does make sense when you think of it, I just didn't :).
Many thanks for your and others comments.
One moe question is it worth getting a Scanguage, particularly when you are a bit of a mechanical novice.

One use I find it great for is when you change terrain (like highway to offroad) you can reset the current trip data and get a quick idea what you're current fuel use is rather than it be 'polluted' by the highway km's you've been doing before you got to the rough stuff which consumes more fuel. Same with hooking up a van. You have the Current Day and
Tank data for overall consideration.
