Hi All
Don't think that I have forgotten about the famous ferry on the
Birdsville Track. I have lost my usual contact within Transport SA and have been trying now for the last few months to get the latest figures.
I managed to get hold of the replacement today and she will see what she can do. What she did tell me was that the ferry is still in full operation and the Cooper is dropping slower than expected and the ferry at this stage should still be running
well beyond Christmas and into January next year.
The moment that I receive the latest figures, I will post them for all to view.
Cheers
Stephen

Hi Get outmore
As they say, there is still a lot of
water to flow yet and mother nature will be the judge of things, that for sure.
Cheers

Stephen
It was thanks to your posts that I also made the trip up to the ferry in early October.
I am from
Bathurst and have just bought a new off road van and it was its maiden voyage.
It was a fantastic trip. My van was too long to go over on Brian's truck but I knew that before I left home.
Got to chat to the ferry guy and girl and it was certainly a great experience.
We also did the chopper flight and Brian's boat trip on the Cooper. Both were fantastic and also great value.
I am an avid homebrewer so I had to have a Coopers Pale Ale on the Cooper wearing my Coopers shirt.
In all it was a great experience and will leave lasting memories.
I would like to thank you for you input on ExplorOz as I reckon that a lot of people off this
forum have done the trip from your excellent reports.
Keep up the good work.
If I am in
Clare I will look you up for a cold Coopers (which I will supply).
Cheers

Hi Bigfella
It is also great to hear that you also enjoyed the
Cooper Creek ferry and the trip to get there and home.
One thing for sure, the Helicopter flight with Paul and the boat cruise with Peter complimented each other and gives you 2 very different
views of the extent of the flooding of the Cooper.
Glad you have enjoyed my post on the ferry and it is a pleasure to give these updates.
All the Best.
Cheers
Stephen

I don't know where I got "Brian" from as it was Peter.
Maybe because I am Brian.

we took our sea kayaks and paddled many km's. One day right up to the
Birdsville track thru all the trees and the other day up the
creek that just went on forever.
Agree that the chopper flight is still worth doing as it gives a different perspective and you can really understand the size of the amount of
water around the place.

Hi Gossy
Good to hear that you also have paddled this section of
water. The bird life from the
water as you would know was unreal.
Cheers
