G'day guys
Does anyone know where (or if) I can purchase the terminals that connect to the wires on the inside of Anderson Plugs (50 amp ones)? I have 4 that have the wires cut off close to the terminals, or wire that is too small, and I want new / larger wiring.... At about $17 each (and requiring 2 to make a connection) they are too expensive to go and buy whole new ones....
I have tried Discount Auto Parts, Supercheap, various 4x4 shops, auto elec repair shops, and auto elec wholesalers without any luck....

Thanks

Drew

It may be worth contacting some of the suppliers of the plugs on eBay.

Ya just never know............

You can buy genuine anderson brand terminals from a variety of suppliers, some on line...but they cost.

There are a few people who sell the terminals alone.
ABR sidewinder is one...um $3.50 a pair

I looked at the $17..and thaught you were getting a bad deal..till I looked up some retail catalogues..sorry not used to buying retail.

I looked into this for my self and asked few questions.......most suppliers simply cant be bothered as they can get the complete plug for about the same price as the contacts alone

Have a bit of a trawl on line, you should be able to get the good quality clones for much better than $17 each

Jaycar list 50 amp plugs complete at arround $15, altronics list them at about $12..full retail in onsies and twosies.
I source from both wholsale and they are the same product.

Scratch arround on line you should be able to manage $8 to 10 each, but then there will be postage.

Just checked their site..ABR sidewinder do the compete plug for $6.95 each

otherwise try Try the local competitive solar shop.

cheers

$2.29 ea if you buy 100, and so on....

Drew, have the terminals been crimped or were the wires soldered in?

If soldered, maybe just heat them up and pull out the wires?

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

For *genuine* Anderson (as opposed to "Anderson style") products, go to

Anderson Power Connections

They also have an ebay presence >> dc-power-man / ebay

For larger orders, I like this place >> Powerwerx

Hi Drew

I sent out a newsletter a little while ago on how to crimp or solder plugs, it may be of interest to you.

Here is the link on how to do it. Crimp-or-solder

And..... may be of interest - Jaycar (and others probably) carry rubber end caps from Anderson - to keep them electro safe when not connected - a loop simply slips over the cable so that the end cap doesn't get lost.
