Heading there in the first week of the school hols in December and am wandering if anyone has camped at the Middle Rock
camp ground? You have to be totally self-sufficient and was also wandering about the fishing? I was thinking about getting some live bait and the only thing I think you would find there (maybe) is beach worms, which are pretty hard to catch.
Any info appreciated.

We have camped at middle rock a few times, although not for 4 years or so. It is our favourite
camping area in Deepwater as not many people tend to go there.
There are (at least were last time we were there) only 6-8
camping sites and they are
well separated so you dont feel like you're
camping right next to someone else.
It is a few minutes walk to
the beach over the dunes. Fishing - you would be looking at bream and whiting mainly. I've never tried to catch beach worms there so can't tell you whether they are there or not so wouldn't count on that being your only bait source. If I were you I would get some bait from Agnes on the way in - worms, prawns and maybe squid.

While you are there can you check out the
sign I saw a couple of years ago? It said "Police and Thieves Operate in this Area". Nice to see such good cooperation.
