Hi Graeme
A good chance it is the thermostat with that behaviour
when it happens you could try rocking the thermostat back & forth &7 see if it then works normal
but if it does it still means iot needs replacing

Thanks Peter, caravan refrigeration service say the thermostat is either working or it is not it would not cut in out like that and to just let it run for a few more days and see what happens, my theory now is that i went on a short trip and thats when it stopped working so i drank warm beer that night and threw out all the food and headed home the next morning, the points in the themostat can get dirty and maybe the trip home cleared them out, fingers crossed.

Hi Graeme
If the sensor line develops a fault that can be true
But it can also just stick in the mechanism[not dirty contacts that would only affect electric operation] /
But that is usually a sign it is on the way out, as is a substantial drift in the set point

RM2310 above 28C will not function. Above 28C cabinet temperatures will get to 9C+
All the non tropical rated fridges from Dometic and all Thetford fridges are a disaster above 28C and none maintain Australian Food Safety Standards above 32C

Paul
WHY don't you just give up on that line??
You repeat it over & over every time this comes up

Many very satisfied users KNOW that CORRECTLY INSTALLED, they can far exceed that

peter of course you can produce miraculous miracles with SN and N rated fridges
matters not how these fridges are installed their specifications state they cannot perform above my quoted figures and they dont
if these fridges could perform better the fridges would be rated to a higher rating and certified as such. the reason why they dont rate these fridges higher the useless heaps of junk cannot keep food to safety standards.
only a fool would dispute the fridge manufacturers and German Standards.

Hi Paul
Without beating around the bush ,perhaps you could point out WHY they cannot perform as many users of correctly installed units claim.
Just what is so different between a 'N" & a "T'" class???

peter seen you are ignorant to the facts, specifications and standards on absorption refrigerators toddle off and do some study to enlighten yourself.
no RV absorption refrigerator will maintain Australian Food Standards above 35C in the cabinet

My RM 2310 ..which I use on gas all the time is so good..Its not good ...it's fantastic ..the freezer freezes, and the fridge runs as low as 2C ..which damn near freezes the lettuce !!..even in the bush with temps at over 40C it works a charm ..and thats before I turn the wick on to serious cooling !!
And by the way its in my off road 4WD Canter Motorhome ..which is pushed over any dirt road that it can find in the Outback ..

Hi Boobook & Leigh
From most of Pauls post you will note
[1] Always very nasty & argumentative
[2] Never backs up his statements with verifiable facts
[3]each of his posts become more & more derogatory of other posters
[4]Apparently has LITTLE practical knowledge or experience
[5]I believe has an interest in a particular brand of compressor fridge
which according to him is the best in the world
[6]He is ALWAYS right & EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG, no matter what the subject

I would put little credence on anything he posts
& give me Mainey anytime, on all forums HE remains civil

Could be thermostate, if running on battery whilst traveling could be a faulty connection.

Also fridge should be level to perform correctly, a fridge that is nearing the end of its life may also exhibit this behaviour.

As for rm2310 not working above 29c, rubbish! I had one for many years and never had a problem with it in any climate. In fact have recently replaced it with the new replacement model for it after the system leaked and it works just as well.

Cheers
