2011 jayco swan

gday
Im getting my new swan this week and was wandering if anyone new off certain things i should be checking out on it before we hit the road. I realise with anything that is mass produced that there will be issues.
i am also looking for some advice on solar, 120w portable pannels. im all wired up for it so i need to find a reliable brand. Ive heard that regs on the back off panels is not a good idea as it gives false readings when the pannel heats up.
cheers for your help.
trev.

Spend some time with the salesman learning the correct method of setup.
I see a few differing methods.

A handy device is a dc/dc battery charger, to keep the van battery charged from the 4WD, when not plugged into 250 volt.

Check wiring to brakes under chassis. They can be hit susceptible to damage from stones etc. Especially if you go down dirt roads.

G'day these things are great, you'll love it.. My suggestion is to take it away for a night or 2 somewhere close & setup everything & try everything before going on a big trip...

One thing you'll really need to consider is the weight of the solar panel and controller. Also the weight of a battery if it's not fitted in the factory.
The weight of anything added to the camper after it leave the factory will have to be included in the vans payload.
i.e. the difference between the campers TARE & ATM.
The payload of the camper is extremely low and almost impossible to maintain without reducing it even further.
