Can anyone comment on the plusses and minuses between the actual largest Avan and the pop top Avan(rhys). I live in Nth.Qld. and cannot go down the road to look at them. My pulling vehicle is a v6 magna.

We have an Avan..the Tayla model...our fiends just recently purchased a Jayco Freedom...similar van , dual axle but with front kitchen and single beds....I am very pleased that we bought the Avan...it is in my humble opinion far superior...I know that this not really what you asked but it is a comparison .. I would not think that you would have any trouble towing a single axle Avan with the Magna.. it may struggle with the largest Avan poptop the Tayla , we tow with a Falcon wagon.....cheers

Try before you buy as you live in a bubble, many magnas pill pop tops with ease up to 16ft. Watever you decide to tow you will need the correct load compensating devices. Many people I have met travelling OZ have started with A vans then changed however there are others that would have no other.

We camped next to a
young family in an Avan at
Carnarvon Gorge last October. It was HOT!! They had a couple of
young kids and were
well set up with annexe etc. They were NOT HAPPY CAMPERS! Said that the lack of ventilation made the inside of the van a sauna and they had to sleep the kids out in the annexe so they could get some sleep.
Hope this helps
