G'day James, this is a difficult question to answer. The only light I can shed, as a Jack
owner, 3.5 V6,is to say I get 15L/100 towing a light offroad C/t. Whether doing 90k
on the tar, 70/80 on dirt, or 30k on the Bungle track it will still be about the same.
I havent done enough on sand to give an opinion, but as with any 4WD ..sand can
be very hard on fuel. I drive to get good consumption & any other way wont get you
figures like
mine. Jacks will drink hard if driven hard, but the other advantages must
be considered. You wont get into a more reliable proper 4by wagon for the dough..
but as I said before...do your homework first.cheers........oldbaz.

Fair deal. im in WA though. there are however a few goodies over here. 160,000 kms 8000 v6. 1998 auto, bottom of the range but good deal. check out gumtree if you are looking for a car. they have cheap ones on there

Hi James
I have had two Jacks, the last a 2002 3.5lt, did over 130k in it.
Fuel consumption was generally around 18lt/100k
Made little difference if it was around town, in the country or towing the camper.
Holden 4wd club of WA could also help with Jack questions
Very reliable vehicle

Depends on the type of offroad. If boggy sand on
the beach it could go up 30L/100km or worse.
Mine gets around 15-17L/100km around town. Anywhere between 22L-30L/100km when towing my van.
