Hullo all,
Is there anybody out there that has had the following problem with their remote control for a 2003 Nissan Patrol ? I must point out, the vehicle has not been used for a couple of months.
Remote would not flash indicators and open doors,
a new battery was recommended and replaced.
remote control still does not operate flashers and open doors.
Ant ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thank you P&J

Does the key operate the vehicle normally otherwise, Do the lights flash etc when you open the door with the key?

The problem might be in the module, have you checked the fuses?

I just tested the spare remote and all is ok.
Will have a look and clean original with electronic cleaner and see how it goes.
Thanks for the thoughts

It is just possible that the remote has lost it's code and may need reprogramming by a dealer, if the second one works Ok it might be worth a try before buying a new one, about $150.00 a few years back.

Yea, I have been looking on the 4x4 site and it appears it could come up with a new programmed code or what ever and maybe different to the spare.
It appears to me it's only covering replacement remotes and not originals to be reprogrammed to original code.
I will have another read 2morro. Cheers P&J

P&J.
This is a common problem with GU patrols,
Mine will unlock with the remote but wont lock. There's plenty of info on here
http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/
about it. Most seem to get an after market alarm fitted then use that remote.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave,
I had that suspicion with it being Nissan, like all their gear "FAULTY" and all they say is buy a new one or give us your wallet.
Will have a look on Patrol 4x4. Thanks for your help.
Cheers P&J

Hello,
You can re-program your key your self. Go to your local library and get a Workshop Manual for your GU. It will guide you step by step. It does not have to be a genuine manual.
Conversely you can do search on the
http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/ I have seen the process shown there.
Good luck

Thanks anglepole, but what I need to know is: by re programing it will it be the original code and be the same as the original spare one?
This is what I need to know. Going to local library and to get a manual for it could be the weeks joke in the bush.
