We purchased a Coramol Princeton 701 from City Caravan Centre in Loganholme QLD in December 2008. We are now trying to get a roadworthy certificate so we can sell the caravan. We have not changed the tyres since we bought it. We have been told the tyres are the wrong size for the van. Trye sizes fitted when purchased are Bridgestone 205 16 15 R388 4ply, Should be 205 16 15 R388 8ply

Has anyone had similar problems

The only difference appears to be the ply rating which affects the load rating. Did they tell you they were under rated for the load? you should be able to check this against the bridgestone specs and you manufacturers placard.

yes, it appears the load rating is wrong. Still checking.

I have a similar sized van a Jayco 24 footer.
Brought it new – it came with four 195 R15 8ply Light Truck construction tyres.
I was under the impression all caravan tyres had to be LT.

Yes tyres that were fitted are 205/65/R15 99H Bridgestone RE88
Which means the load is 750kg per tyre. But they are only 4PLY passenger car tyres. They should be 8 PLY tyres. They were rejected for roadworthy certificate because of ply rating. They have been on since the van was purchased new in 2008. I have no comeback on dealer as I have no photo proof on purchase or delivery. If I had a accident claim on the van I possible would have been refused. Anyone who has purchased a coromal princeton 701 anniversary van should be advised to check. I have now purchased new 8ply tyres.
