Hi Steve : I think the nav looks pretty good lots of stuff to play with ,using hema maps it would be nicer with life time maps up date . hama navigator is maybe a bit over price for what you can get when you look around these days. you buy one of the new navman & let us know !!!!
cheers nick

Hi steve, I had a look through the info on the Navman website and the Escape seems to be an updated version of the MY75 that has been around for 12-18 months, and has been available for as low as $170 lately. The reason I comment is we did 4 months around Aust this year with the MY75 and to put it frankly, its not the best. We wrote detailed reports to both Navman and their map supplier Navteq regarding the significant shortcoming of both the unit and maps loaded which you can probably do a search for on this
forum. I would have a good test of the navman and try before you buy if you can, the maps on the MY75 were regularly wrong, the unit drops all fuctions if it calculates you off the road in the data base despite being on the actual road and then shuts itself down at the most inopertune time. 4 months and we had to reload the software and maps 3 times, do you think navman were any help? Think of another brand in our limited experience. My personnel opinion only.

I have both a NAVMAN MY75T and the HN5. I got the NAVMAN as I wasn't too happy with the Route 66 "street directory" and wanted something a bit better for city/town use....and the NAVMAN certainly filled that roll very
well. Unlike some, I've not experienced any problems with the unit at all.
Having said that, I recently had cause to send my HN5 back to HEMA as it wouldn't "talk" to my computer. After this experience I can give a big enough wrap to HEMA for their excellent customer service. Not only did they fix the comms problem with the computer but they also loaded a full set of new software and maps. I've got to say that the new Route 66 kit with its "text to talk" function etc is as good as any I've seen and apart from the specky 3D
intersection display that NAVMAN has, it is every bit as good. Both of course are Navteq data bases.
For touring though....my preference is the Hema. Expensive yet...quality yes....and excellent customer service. Would I buy another....yes! Do I have any affiliation with HEMA....no.....just a satisfied customer.
