BJ,
Re the ends of the awning to stop the flapping. Have seen tent poles used, these of course are adjustable. To hold the pole in position at the van a piece of ply with a hole for the tent pole end is fitted into the housing, at the roll out awning end, a rubber fitting with the tent pole spike is attached to the end pole and position in the corner of the roll out awning housing. The tent pole is put under tension.
2 or 3 clamps are used to hold the awning against the tent pole, at each end of the awning.
The more costly alternative
The Fiamma F45 ends grip the awning for the full length of the sides of the awning, come in half and slot together, ie 2 pieces for each end.
The ends have 2 tracks one for a side wall and another for a blind for a window.
We just use the top track for a black mesh wall that we use for a windbrake, a bit of privacy and to stop others walking under our awning as a quick way from A to B.
Our side wall can be positioned either at the front of back and is all velcro fitting to wrap around the F45 pole and at the van, one of the poles that comes with the Fiamma side tracks.
We also purchased a 50mm wide ie 2inch black webbing that goes from one side to the other over the middle of the awning to stop the middle of the awning flapping, this is tied down to the ground by pegs, one peg with a spring to keep the webbibg tight.
The problem with this is that in windee conditions the awning and webbing make a slapping noise which becomes unbearable, so you need the slightly curved spreaders from van to awning to stop the noise. The webbing then keeps the awning tight on the spreaders. Some use rope, but to me that will wear the awning over time. Some use rope/webbing with out ends either tent poles or Fiamma end, to me this will just stretch the end of your awning.
As said earlier recommend Camec.
No connection etc etc.
