Case, I can assure you that we don't usually do this many km's in a year. However, it is nearly 13,000kms from our place to
Broome return, so you tend to clock up lots of kms just getting to a place, before you add on all of the additional touring. We also had family commitments in 4 states this year which involved back-tracking at times.
We had 9 years in a camper trailer seeing Australia properly before going soft and opting for the off road van. We haven't let that impede our adventure though - have had it in some pretty remote
places too which is good. Our experiences in the Ultimate gave us a good idea on where we can and cannot go back to with the van. We are good at manouvering, squeezing and reversing.
After 250,000+ kms in 11 years, we still haven't seen more than about 20% of this wonderful country I am sure. We always advise our friends to take it slowly and see one area properly, instead of trying to cram too many things in to too many kms.
We totally agree, this is a great country!!
