Morning all,
Anyone had any experience, positive or negative, with a Tracktrailer Topaz caravan?
Thanks,
Greg

I am a bit of a fan of Track Trailer having now had 4 different models.
I started with the trailer type which unfolded from the top into a bed .cupboards along the side etc. Then went back to a butterfly type as I thought I would carry tent in that.
Then I bought the best of all the Tvan, had it for around 8 years and ended up selling it and getting my money back.It was great and towed a dream, result of the
suspension designed by a dedicated engineer ,who unfortunately has passed on.He was a passionate person and if you look hard at an older you will see what I mean , nuts ,stainless bolts , galvanised frame ,fibreglass [I could go on] Somewhat sorry I sold it to buy a Topaz ,but they have the same wonderful
suspension, kitchen internally, bit easier to get in & out of bed.plus other benefits ,hot
water if wanted , BBQ outside.shower outside,[but still a annexe for this].
The negatives.Higher and therefore lots more care needs to be taken. Not as mobile on bad tracks.Very costly both for purchase and service.[perhaps the cost makes you more aware of potential damage]
I am certainly not associated with Track. But have had a very good client relationship with them [to date]When I booked my Topaz in for service I asked them for a DVD on Topaz [to keep up with the latest]This DVD will tell you all you need to know [on the positives anyway]I still mourn the parting of the Tvan.

Had a look at one last week.....very good trailer and I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem with one..
Only negative. ( with us anyway ) was price and weight....and height..

GregN3: If weight, height & purchase price is of concern then look at the Tvan from TrackTrailer. After 3 years of research, when I was ready to buy I had no reservations about buying a Tvan Murranji only last month. Very
well made, go anywhere, good sleeping arrangements and a great compromise between a full caravan & a conventional trailer. There's a saying amongst Tvanners - you are a Tvanner for life and many are traded on yet another Tvan. We have several friends with Tvans and they are completely happy with them. Company is excellent to deal with direct - outlets are few and far between.

Greg
I personally have had no direct use of a topaz but in the magazine 'Australian Campertrailer' There is a family "the Paveys" who have been doing the around OZ odessy with a Topaz in tow
They have done a good amount of the hard stuff (
cape york, Kimberleys etc) It may be worthwhile having a gander at the articles.
They MAY also have a website to have a look at.
Regards
M

Hi Greg N3,
We too have had both a Tvan and Topaz,(still do) I love the Topaz, the eaze of set up, the storage both inside and out, great after sales service they are amazing, my hubby is always ringing them up asking questions and suggesting things they are always polite and considerate. We bought a second hand 2005 Tvan that was out of warranty that had a couple of issues and they offered to pay for it to get fixed but as we live a ways from a dealer and my hubby is fussy he asked could he fix it himself they said yes and supplied him with all the gear free.
There is a track trailer
forum you can access via their website, have a look around there.
We have made a few mods but you will find pics and eveerything on the forums.
Hope this helps.
One of the reasons we went for a Topaz is that I am really allergic to sandflies etc. so I can
cook etc. inside but rosss gets to go the
places he likes to. we are of to the
Kimberley in ours next year.
