WAECO CF 60

I have a Waeco CF 60 cool freeze and was curious to know if any body has had the problem of the temperature control failing to work. The problem I am having is that the temperature is set at -18 or freeze and I can not increase it to a higher setting The + Up & - Down buttons work when you change the power setting IE low - med - high but not when trying to increase or decrease the temperature. Does anybody know if there is a reset button anywhere or does it have to go to a repair agent.

Any help would be appreciated.

Has you Waeco got a "SET" button, if it has you have to push it once and then adjust the temp with the up and down buttons.

This appears to be a common problem with Waeco fridges after about 5 years operation, the theremostat control gives up resulting in constant operation and a cabinet temp of around -18deg.
Unless you are familiar with these units I suggest you seek the advice of a factory authorised repairer.

Athol we have 6 Waecos and are more then aware of the thermostat issue, the cabinet temp will go way below -18..... the display will only go down to -18.

It would help if Kevin R had the courtesy to reply to any questions asked.... and like most thing to many people jump to conclusions before finding the facts...... if you start at the basics you get a better understanding of the issue.

Mr olcoolone
I am a busy man and apparently unlike your self do not sit on the computer viewing forums all day. Why would one answer a reply to has it got a"SET button" as I stated that it was a CF 60 they do not make that model without a set button.
And with regards to you saying that I jump to conclusions in what part of my query did I jump to any conclusions and make an assumption of the facts. Please read my query in full as I did make mention of the SET button with regards to changing the LO - MED - High power setting.

Hang on Kevin, you did not mention what model of CF60 you have.... there are four model changes since introduction and only the Vera models have a set button.... a bit of information goes a long way.

And no I don't sit at a computer all day, my day starts at 6am and finishes somewhere around 8pm.... when I get on the computer it's between jobs having a break!

Kevin "jumping to conclusions" had nothing to do with your post.... it was directed at other who DON'T start with the basics and pull things out of thin air with out all the facts.

Much like a car pulling to the left..... some would say " you need a wheel alignment or your brakes could be out of balance"..... how about starting at the basics and asking "is your tyre pressure OK".... simple hey.

You would of heard the thing about the person calling the computer help line...... after going through everything with the knowledgeable customer the guy at the call center asked "is it plugged in" a slight pause and the reply came back " I knew I forgot something".

We are in the service industries and the strange things we see from those knowing better you could write a book about ...... try getting a call out and travelling 500 kilometers to push a clearly marked button.... the customer was asked before over the phone about the button and his reply was "of course I have turned it on and pushed the button", I think it cost him about $1200 for his mistake.

So I think your jumping to conclusions that I made the comment about you... that I clearly didn't.

Simplest way to solve a problem is obtain as much information about the item, the issues and start from scratch.

Gday Kelvin

My problem appears to be very similar ... it doesn't seem to matter what temperature I have set, the unit freezes. My fridge digital read-out actually climbs in temperature, to where it gets to 56 - 60 degrees.

Tried changing power source, turning off and on, as well as attempting to re-set the thermostat ... no luck. We're off to Perth soon, so will get it looked at whilst there.

Cheers
