Toyota motor
Hello all,
I am considering replacing the 1FZFE in my 98 100 series to a UZJ100 V8. Have any of you done this and have advice why I should or should not?
You may ask why, I have a 100 ute conversion and want to make it really different.
Does the 2UZFE fit?
Is it a straight forward changeover (with the obvious parts to change) and can I run the UZJ100 on LPG?
Any related advice would be appreciated.
Please put me out of my misery or get me more interested.

Hmmm...
You can fit anything into anything with a big hammer.....
The engine mounts need to be changed, bell housing, ECU and O2 sensors would be a minimum. The 2UZJ100 is a rare engine as the rodders and stockcar people like them.
If you find one a must is Timing Belt and
Water Pump, irrespective of age or mileage......

ECU's can be found on eBay at times.

If you are after more power ,the 1FZ FE is good for supercharging or turbocharging.
It will be much cheaper and easier to do.

Ross, I have thought about both and supercharging would be my choice. But you are right if it comes down to dollars and what doesn't these days.

I will do Tony, that was going to be my next stop. I believe there is some owners there that have done turbo, supercharging and v8 conversions.

gooday , We have 06 v8 petrol , I was told that you can't gas this mobel uzj & not very good on fuel , but I would surgest a twin exhaust as these motors sound sweet on"song" just luv it ..

Hey Nick, I have been advised about the no LPG on the UZJ and I believe it is the same for the 2UZ. Fuel economy has got to be better than the 1FZ. I average 20-22L/100.
Yep, love that v8 note, although my 1FZ sounds sweet with a larger exhaust and the resinator removed.
