Aaaah, it is true...I have graduated from a grizzled old sheep cocky..roughin it in the
DIY Scroogemobile C/t...with the ever faithful childbride..to a grizzled , decrepit old
caravan owner.. as immortalised by John Williamson.
Childbride is delighted..me?..just broke again & with all the must have caravan type
toys & gizmos still to be collected. ..(but secretly quite pleased..:)))..).
Proud owners of a 1999 High Clearance Gazal Infinity..13'6",rear door pleasure
palace that appears to have spent little time on the road.
Much loved Jackaroo will tow it Exmouth next autumn, via Plenty & GCR on a wee
test run. Aint life a real pain?. All congratulatory epistles will be gratefully received,
& I expect something particularly eloquent from you, Heather MG...:)))).
I feel the need to retire to my local for several nourishin noggins of black..to settle
the nerves.....cheers..........oldbaz.

Hi Oldbaz....so you finally decided to join our ranks eh?!

I am sure you will will both enjoy the luxury, and just think how little time it will take to set up when you pull up in the evening.....so much more time to enjoy happy hour!

I still look around our 18 foot palace sometimes and remark to John about what a huge tent we travel in.

We still have the same van but did trade the tow vehicle a few months ago and are now driving a Pajero...which is pretty flash but I'm not sure just how we will fit all of our gear in on a long trip, if we take the tinny too.

Sounds like you have 2012 planned...and it sounds like great fun.

We haven't decided what we will do yet having spent three months basically being grandparent carers to an almost 2 year old and an almost 4 year old. The daughter has been laid up with a mystery illness...now recovering thankfully, but I think it may take ME three months to recover!

Make sure you cover the van with EO advertising so we will recognise you when we pull up beside you somewhere again!

Regards to both of you,

Heather

Hi Dunworkin, Oldbaz,

Well I won't make the mistake about asking for advice re squeaking caravan bed again......lol. There were some very entertaining replies but not too helpful! We laughed about it for days afterwards.

We managed to solve it ourselves, after discovering the plywood end piece on the head end was rubbing on the metal bedframe when ever one of us so much as moved....and it was fixed by shaving a few mms off the plywood so they don't connect anymore. There were some interesting moments caused by the gas strut when we disassembled the bed.

Cheers,

Heather
