Hi,
I purchased this tent secondhand just over a year ago. I am trying to chase the instructions for it, but there is nothing that actually identifies it… I searched Google for Australia’s largest
camping forum and your name was up near the top….
I was certain it was a Stockman Wimmera 8 man tent, but I have been in contact with the distributor and have been told, close, but not exactly…
Can you have a look at the attached picture and let me know if you can identify it!!! This is driving me crazy.
I initially thought it was a Stockman, then someone else had one simular that thought it was a Jackaroo…
I need the make and model if possible so I can chase up the instructions on how to put it together... My original copy was lost during a move.
I have pasted the links below as to what this tent looks like...
Thanks so much for your time.
Stevie.

I'm sure Stockman is part of the Jackerroo brand and usually sold though KMart , your best bet would be to look in one of their stores for a similar tent.

Thanks Charlie,
I had a look in the local Kmart and also rang their head office... I was given the contact details of their supplier, which at this stage thought was Stockman... The Stockman rep (Taiwan), said it looked similar to theirs, but was not...
Anyway, hopefully someone will know.

Hi Stevie,
I'm unable to confirm the brand (pretty sure it was jackaroo) or instructions but I have one exactly the same (colour and all). We bought it from Kmart in 2002. It is a bit of bugger to put up and definitely a two person job + patience + lotsa practise in back yard. It's easy to put a warp in the top and long side poles but if you can maybe get a third person to steady the side poles as you lift it's easier until you get the hang of it. (Take your time and swear frequently and it will all make sense eventually)
Cheers

Thanks Wilgadene,
I am thinking it was a Jackaroo.... But I am in an apartment which doesn't allow for easy set-up....
Still waiting on someone to say they know the make and model!!! Surely there is one person out there!!!!

Hi Stevie
Where do you live? you can borrow my yard to set up if your close.
Once you have worked it out might be an idea to spray paint the poles and fittings at the ends different colours or label them eg Left Middle Right
I purchased a second hand tent years ago when we first started (family)
camping what made it worse was some missing poles :-(
At the time I thought I was buying a bucket of guy ropes and pegs at a garage for sale for $20.00 until he asked where my car was and he would help load the rest of the tent for me :-)
Cheers Michael

G,day Stevie J, I have the same tent and
mine is a "Stockman Wimmera" bought from K-mart yearssssss ago.
It takes two people to set up approx. 20 - 30 minutes tops. a couple of extra hands is a bonus.
I can't find the instruction, but;
Sort out your poles;
Roof poles x 3, corner & end poles x 6 & 6 bends, all the thicker ones.
Internal poles are thinner ones, they are the only tricky bit. They clip together with hooks & holes and are adjustable, they have a plastic clip that clips onto the roof poles though a small opening.
Veranda poles have a spike on them. 3 sets.
First thing is to lay your tent out & peg it down in the corners only.
Slide the three roof poles through the sleeves. Put on the 6 corner bends, tie them on loosely, connect the 4 corner & 2 centre up rights and start standing it up with your helper. The corners are on an angle with the bottom towards the centre... It will look untidy at first but don't worry about that.
Go inside and assemble the internal frame. It has hooks, holes and plastic clips that hold it all together, a bit of a jigsaw but not rocket science. It sits on the floor and clips to the roof poles via small holes.
Go back out and straighten up all the supports, peg it down properly and adjust corners. Put up the veranda and give yourself a pat on the back...
Hope this assists. It will get easier, colour code or number the poles for next time.

Hi Stevie,
Yes I agree, I am pretty sure it is a K-Mart Jackeroo and I reckon I have the instruction sheet somewhere filed. I will have a look on the weekend and scan it as a PDF on Monday and then work out how to get it to you.
Cheers,
Merv
