Hi,

I'm currently travelling around Australia and have had many problems with my Waeco CF-50. Does anyone know of an autoelectician who is experienced with Waeco fridges in the Perth area (I have seen dozens of auto electricians who have no idea and each one offers different advice, I also called Waeco and they weren't able to advise of anyone either). Also, I'm looking for a good reliable 4WD mechanic to service my Hilux, is anyone able to recommend someone in Perth???
I'd appreciate any advice!

Caren, Lyons Air conditioning in Kewdale service the Engels and should be good for the Waeco. Interesting that Waeco could noty advise a service agent in Perth.

Darling somebody is giving you an absolute line or you are telling a story as I was in Perth earlier this year and had a faulty lid on my Waeco 50 litre. I phone Waeco in Melbourne who put me in touch with Waeco WA and the service was first class.
As I could not get there on the Friday, they came in to change over the faulty lid with a new redesigned lid. Thank you Waeco for such fabulous service. We have a Waeco 50 litre we use as a fridge and a Waeco 40 litre we use as a freezer. We are very happy little Waeco marmites ducky.

I did call the above numbers. They said as it wasn't a fault of the fridge itself there was nothing they could do, which is fair enough. I just wanted them (or anyone) to recommend an auto electrician who was experienced with Waecos so I could get the problem fixed.
It has been incredibly frustrating to be out in the desert and have the error light flash on, knowing that the meat and dairy we have will soon go off. It's even more frustrating visiting auto electricians who tell you conflicting things and still the fridge doesn't work!
I don't want to bad mouth Waeco, I just want to get my problem fixed.

Darling you will find your fridge needs to be connected with a proper Hella 16mm DIN plug and socket directly to your battery with thick heavy wire. No doubt duckie you have it plugged into the cigarette lighter and the wiring is not good enough and causing the low voltage light to flash.

Agree! I have had intermittent problems in the past & its best to wire direct with HD cable & fuse. That should do the trick.
