Wet High Country

Oh well, looks like for the second year in a row the High Country's going to be wet the week before Christmas! Wonder if we'll get snow again this year!

Headed down to Mansfield on Saturday, and then hoping to get into a few tracks - weather permitting. If it's crap weather we just end up staying on the blacktop and doing more k's. If it stays fine, then time in the ute is the same, but k's will be way down. Fingers crossed it's not too wet :)

Anyone else headed out next week?

We were going to have Xmas up Davies Plain then continue down the tracks for New Year somewhere around Dargo.

May have to leave after the New Year and have Xmas at the farm.

Will be in Talbotville area (Dargo) doing days trips christmas to New Year Sheepie.

Won't be snow - chains good idea though.

Hope to get out for a shake up cruise this weekend also.

Some of the rivers were a bit high last year and its looking that way again this year.

We've just come back from a fortnight down there, stuck mostly to the better roads and tracks as one of the other vehicles had transfer case problems the second day so 2wd only from then on.
Rained most days at the higher altitudes, spent 3 days at Talbotville, river was running well and the grass is a couple of feet high, really needed a slasher or take a whipper snipper. Quite cool especially at night for this time of the year, soon as the sun went down it was beanies, jackets and long pants.
Up on the Dargo high plains road it was sleet and ice everywhere with a huge windchill factor.
Most days we had abit of everything weather wise, all four seasons but never got past mid twenties temp wise even on the few sunny days.
