Does anybody out there require a honda powered air compressor?
We are developing, or trying to develop a honda powered compressor which utilises an automotive type screw compressor which will pump up tyres in no time at all, and hopefully run some air tools, and try to be competitive with the electric compressor prices.
Is there a need for this, or are we wasting our time.
Any feedback would be helpful.

Yeah, same sort of thing as the generators, will try to keep it under $800 hopefully, as the honda engines still cost a bit.
Just wondering if its worth manufacturing a commercial unit.

Mick.
Sounds good, but I won't buy one, the rally pit crews may be interested, if you main objective is to pump up 4x4 tyres in a hurry can I suggest you remove the main problem, that is the very small gap around the valve core that limits the air flow. I replace the valve assemble completely with the valves used on farm tractors they have a much larger air hole and can be blown up with a good quality hand pump faster than an electric compressor and standard valves. Eric.

Can you still fit the standard automotive female fitting from a compressor to that valve though? I wouldn't have thought of this as a method to get air in... Very smart indeed.

The endless air systems are excellent, i fit my own to all our trucks though as the endless price is a bit much with all brackets and mounting.
The idea with the honda engine driven type, will be the portable aspect, to throw in the back of any truck.

Mick, check out post 8997 or is that where you got your idea from? I have a mate that uses Saden 508 air con compressor with modified starter motors, maybe you could use the Saden attached to the Honda? My two cents worth.

Mick,

Have you thought about a dismountable air compressor and alternator to fit the Honda engine? A simple dog clutch and a couple of locking pins to secure the alternator or the air compressor to the engine shouldn't be too hard to engineer. This would mean taking one engine with two "accessories", saving on both cost and weight (given your comment about the Honda engine cost).

great idea , was looking at this idea 4 months ago , major stumbling block for us was $$$$$ it always ended up costing way to much for the consumer , I dont think 2 many people will want to part with 1 k Venus Bay

Mick.
There are diferent types of tractor valves, one that is intended for putting water in to tyres has a screw out valve holder, it uses the standard valve connection but you have to be very smart about screwing the valve in before you lose to much air. The ones with the larger valve use a larger connection. A smart market move would be to sell a set of larger valve units with an adapter to standard connections but this partly defeats the objective of getting air in fast. another aproach would be to have both types of valves on each wheel. Eric.

MICK, Iv'e got the Honda EU10 Gen set RRP1.5k + ARB air compressor $400 so I had the same thought as above to be able to combine both accesories with 1 power plant(motor)
Maybe like a drill you can attach your accesories "you" want or housed in the 1 unit but a flick of a switch to change between compressed air and 12/240 vtI don't save My daylight
