Howdy,
Heading up to
South West Rocks for the holidays...any suggestions for decent fishing spots (both with & without kids would be great). Just off the shore, no boat at the moment!!
Appreciate your feedback

Depending on your kids ages there are some
good spot along the river anywhere from the
rock wall mouth entry and upstream along the riverbanks. Further around near the old jail can also be ok. For the adventurest types [adults ]along the coast around the from the jail and also below the
lighthouse can be good for
rock fishing but beware of the usual
rock fishing hazards.
Beach fishing can also be ok around south of the
lighthouse.
I haven been there for a few years now but i know a few blokes who spend 3 weeks there ever march fishing and always from shore. I also had a friend who lost his life whilst climbing down to
rock fish up there so be careful if you do.
For the other reply above

One of the better
places on the river is between the Tavern & where the charter boats are moored, or down at
Back Creek between the
bridge &
the entrance.
Cheers Dave.

Back Creek has sandflies that will carry you off! Rub the black mud all over your body and they will leave you alone.
So does everybody else!!

Sand flies won't bother you at the moment as there is a howling nor
easter blowing
