You may find the "Aussie
Camp shower" site worth looking at .. I saw these demonstrated a while ago and thought they were quite good.
Aussie
Camp Shower link.
Mind you ... I am a canvas bucket up a tree .. or at best/worst a 12v pump (Supercheap Autos) and a bucket of warm
water traveller, but thought I could add to the confusion.
JackNo trees were harmed in the making or sending of this message.
However a great number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

I've had both Twine & Glind, no real difference both work extreamly
well. the bueaty of these is that you can draw
water from a river to shower and also fill
water drums or tanks.

I have a McPauls. Works
well.
A tip is to use decent size pump (sureflow) rather then the little 12v showers like Helton use.

I'm with Willem. I take 2 shower bags - this will do 4 bodies.
But I have seen a Primus gas unit that is independant of a vehicle. It has only just been released.

Thats what we use, with the exception that we use one of those yellow 12 volt showers you can buy from any
camping store for about forty bucks. Works great, fill the 20 ltr steel bucket from the river, put it on the fire, wait for the
water to get to body temp, plug the shower in and off you go.

We have used Twine units in all our vehicles and they are really very good. You can get them in the Adventure
Shop on this site. Go to
Vehicle Shower Systems.
Helton also advertise on ExplorOz and sell excellent units. Have a look at Business Search and use keyword Helton.Regards

I can vouch for the Twine unit and, yep, the service through the Adventure
Shop was pretty quick. Sure beats a shower bag when you have 4 adults, 4 kids and still want hot
water for the dishes.

I use a cheap $25 shower from Jaycar.
http://www1.jaycar.com.au
Stock Code YS2800.
Consists of a submergible 12v pump, hose and shower head, and a waterproof switch. The head has a flow control as
well.
There are several types of this around, but the Jaycar one has a nice supple hose.
In summer, I heat the
water in our solar shower, then transfer the
water to a bucket, start up the pump and viola - warm shower. In cooler weather, I heat the
water on the campfire. Two people can have a great shower from a 10L bucket, 3 or 4 if you're careful.

I have one of these, the impeller stuffed up so I adapted the rose assembly to a Hills six litre garden sprayer, a few pumps and presto plenty of pressure,no cables to connect, very portable and also doubles as a fire extinguisher for underbody grass fires with the standard spray assembly refitted.

I use the old canvas bucket type with the adjustable shower head , I have made a bracket/arm that slips into the roof rack with a hook on the end we slip the foldout shower screen underneeth and raise and lower the shower on a rope , just heat up the
water and away you go , nothing to brake down ,and only take seconds to set up.This is not my car anymore

I have been using the Twine system for 13 years and have had flawless perfomance from them. I now have Twines fitted into each of my Patrols and my Pathfinder.
I find that when I am on tour I may need to shower up to 20 people each evening, so I need something that is going to work time and again.
Also the Twine carries a 15 year no questions asked warranty on the heat exchange unit, not many products will do that any more.
100% copper, no plastic to crack or get heat affected and no "O" rings to leak.
For my money it is a Twine every time.Getabout 4WD Adventures

Dont Getabout 4WD Adventures own the distribution rights to the Twine Shower system - I would therefore hope that you use them ;-)
Actually, I have recently fitted a Twine - easy to do, great instructions and a quality unit - very satisfied customer:-)Moggs ( Normanhurst NSW)

All the above offer excellent advice re heat exchange units ... if you're servicing many bodies, as in tour groups .. elsewise you must have 5* requirements and 400 or so dollaros you don't have anything better to spend on.
See previous comments on canvas bags or submersible pumps .. gotta be the way to go.Fidei defensor

I have been getting lazy of late.
Just boil the billy and pour a warm water mix into the galavanised bucket. Stand on an old cheap
shop tarp( $3). Have a wash with soap and a rag. Rinse off. Use less than 2 litres of water and most of it falls back into the bucket for later use for washing dishes. Missus still likes the palstic
shower however.
Cheers,
Willem

Willem, I had a terrible picture run through my mind when I read your post. Remember the show "Steptoe & Son", well in one of the shows old Steptoe was having a bath in the
kitchen sink! It wasn't a pretty sight. Bloody hell, using the same water that washes your butt ( and dangly bits) to wash the dishes you will eat off!!!!

G'day Big Trev.......I love
fishing........you never know who you are going to catch..hahahaha...yeah I remember Steptoe and Son...funny show....maybe I got it 'round the wrong way...maybe I washed the dishes first and then reheated the dirty water for a
shower...hahaha...Anyway, I like recycling things. By the way 'butt' is American slang.....lets not go down that road.
Have a nice day.

Willem, I think I have found something we agree on. The use of Americanisms in the good old Aussie language. I hate 'em with a passion.
So I will take your correction on the chin, I deserve it. I was trying to be "politically correct" - bugger it. I should have left what I wrote, then changed.
ARSE, there that feels better.

Ahhhh...Big Trev....it is good that we can agree on something.
I have gotten used to the word ARSE especially with the attchment HOLE on the end of it. I find that friendly people call me that when I drive in the Big Smoke and do not know where I am supposed to go. Other words also come to mind but they are not for publication on this fair site.
Cheers,
