Hi all. Such a great site this is, you have helped me so much in the past. I have a question about switching my new LED strip lighting. What do others use? I am looking for something that is user friendly and doesn't stick out too much. Also, is a dimmer necessary, what do you all think?
Cheers'
Chris.

Go to an electrical wholesaler and you can buy a bedlamp flex with switch for about $5. IMHO this is the way to go as you do not have stuffing around fitting the switch.

Derek from Sidewinder who lurks on exploroz has waterproof ones that are great. I used the bed side lamp ones for a year or so but they fail after a short while as they aren't at all weather resistant.

As suggested, good stuff at
ABR Sidewinder. I've used bedlamp style switches but find it's too easy to bump them and find the light on hours later.
You don't need a dimmer.

ABR Sidewinder has the perfect in linew switch, don't use bigger than 6-8mm of 12v cable otherwise won't fit in the switch.

Hi Nootsa,
I used an inline switch from Jaycar but the one on the ABR site looks heaps better, and not much dearer, plus it's
water proof.
