Hi all,
We are heading off to Port
Lincoln National Park after Christmas and was enquiring about the best
camp sites in the
Park. I have been advised by the Parks South Australia that we do not need to book a site and there are lots of sites available. Also I have been told we need to buy an 8 week
Camping pass.
Also we are heading off to
Coffin Bay first time at Sand Driving and tips on the best
places to stay and about Sand Driving would be appreciated. We are just tenting it.
Thanks

Gooday Ice man : As I remember ..its been a few years.. it's not a bad c/
park at
coffin bay - nice spot &
camping in the national aswell .
1st time sand driving , As I remember
gunyah beach in the national
park is a
soft beach so if your on your own be careful . but the
sand dunes should be a good place to try out !!!!
I guess you will get plenty on sand driving ....
good luck & good holidaying ...
cheers nick

Hi Iceman,
You should enjoy both NPs over there. Even at Christmas, they shouldn't be busy. Lots of salmon in schools. Sorry I can't help with
camp site names. We normally pick the best one that's quiet.
As for sand driving, if you are with another vehicle tyres down to 12 psi. If on your own, tyres to 10 psi and invest in max tax or exhaust jack or both.
Enjoy your trip. I'll be trying to get bogged at
Robe SA.

Hi iceman,
Lincoln national park was fanbloodytastic in july this year. and could pay a day at a time if required. the
toilets were the best in any nationall
park or public
park we have seen. the
park was very clean.

Fantastic spot.
As already mentioned be cautious on the beaches, particularly in
Coffin Bay Nat
Park, if in doubt go for a walk. Remember to drop your tyres and watch the tide if heading out to the lighthouse there.
Lincoln Nat
Park - mostly easy driving, great place, spectacular
views. Good footwear required for some of the walks. Contact the
Port Lincoln Information Service and booka key and
camp site at Memory cove, limited numbers are allowed in and a fantastic spot!
