Boy am I in trouble, the supreme comander told me to leave the fridge door and freezer door open in the van, and of coarse i did what i were told to do didn't i boys, but when I explained to the boss that a little green man from mars came down and closed the doors again she got annoyed with me and I don't think she believed me ( we wouldn't lie would we boys ) so told me to clean it however when I explained to her that since time began that was womans work, we men were hunters and protectors.
I didn't believe how mould could eat into plastic and be so hard to clean any sugestions ?. gotta wash the dog now this place is full of fleas.
Cheers warren

Hi Warren,
Have you tried using gumption and a soft cloth....rubbing gently until the mould and mark disappear, or otherwise undiluted bleach.
In either case rinse off with
water afterwards. Both products can be found in the cleaning products aisle at the
supermarket.
Hope this helps.....or you could buy flowers, chocolates, champagne...or something else your wife really wants! maybe a new fridge! lol
good luck
Regards,
Heather

I agree Gumption is good.
Also motor vehicle cutting polish will do the job.

Chocolates and Champange ok, I help eat and drink.

Clean it out as the guys have suggested then wipe it over with vanilla essence. If you wipe it out with vanilla after every use or when storing the van, you wont get mould growing.

Four parts white vinegar (80%) to one part
water (20%).
One removed use a little liquid cleanser like ajax, jiff etc to bring the surface back to a gleaming finish,
Once clean, go over with a little vanila essence in
water or some lemon juice in warer to freshen the smell.
best of luck, Ozjohn.

WOW thanks for the replies. vanila essence would not have thought that, ( sure beats my idea 4" angle grinder. just kidding LOL ). What did suprise me was the speed at which it grew it was used as a temporary beer fridge then had to shut the doors to move the van (100 yds ) dinted the bloody thing in the process, she wouldn't buy the little green man story then either lol. but the doors were shut for maybe 2 -3 weeks mould realy is amazing stuff. thanks again all.

Get out the rubber gloves and Domestos. Wipe over and then wash off. Works a treat.

Domestos, Exit mould and other bleachs do not kill the mould spores.
The liquid together with wiping will remove most traces of the mouuld wkile the bl;each will 'bleach the residue so that they can't be seen, but live spores still remain.
The 4:1 white vinegar mixture will kill the mould spores.
Best of luck.
Ozjohn.

A tiimely thread!
Just opened the esky that had been loaned out for the work christmas party. After sitting with melted ice in it in the office for a week, looks like I have a cleaning job, too.
Bleach will make it white again. I'll try the suggested vinegar to kill the spores, rather than my usual oil of cloves. The cloves smell can be a bit much.
Cheers Lyn
