Help! Our 2005 triton has developed a
water leak. The last 3 times its rained heavy we've had
water on the front passenger side floor. This time was quite a bit. We've felt up under the dash and it all seems dry. I suspect it may be coming in thru the plenum. Anyone else experienced this problem?

Has the car had its windscreen replaced? First place I'd look.

Apparently not. We only had it 3 months. Bought from original owner. All service docs and receipts for everything are there. Nothing that points to a screen being replaced. Gonna chech the vent drain.

Well I just took the vent cover off and poured some
water in the vent area and found something bizarre. The RHS of the vent is draining freely. It has a huge drain that runs out behind the driver side front guard, but it looks like the
water running off the left side of the windscreen drains into the engine bay and runsdown the UHF coax. Then, where it and the wiring loom go through the firewall grommet, the
water apears to be traveling down the wiring and into the cabin. Will seal it up with some silicon and see what happens from there.

Louie my 01 MK has similar drainage points on BOTH sides. Occasionally leaves and other crap get stuck in there, and I open both doors, stick the hose down the back of the guard, and am constantly amazed at the amount of crap that drains out the bottom. Sounds like your passenger side is clogged. If you lift the bonnet, also flush from there, at the top, both sides of the windscreen, as that is where a lot of muck gets stuck, letting the
water drain off in other directions.
Good Luck. I do that regularly, and no problems.

Thanks for the replies. Checked the drains and they all clear. After copious amounts of polyurethane sealant on the cables and hole in the grommet, and making a small diversion drain, and getting it all over my handhands, shirt and shorts, I think its fixed. Have poured a few buckets of
water over it and it seems OK. Turns out it was wet up higher where the cables run down behind the soundproofing.

Hi louie the fly, Instead of silicon use expander foam, had the same problem when up the Cape last year. You can trim off the excess when it dries and is easy to remove if you need to add or replace a cable.
