Gossy
Just had an Autron cruise control fitted to the GQ Patrol (2.8td) ready for a big 7 week trip around WA next year.
Highly recommended. If you have thought about it for your older bus I would say 'go for it'.
I'm sure there's other brands but this one caught my eye with their adverts in the 4x4 magazines. About $800 fully installed; not cheap but more relaxing on the long drives now!

I have cruise control on both me Aurion and the Paj and can't say I'm a fan of cruise control. Just something about them when there operationg that makes me feel un easy.
Mind you I have used Auto pilot many many times and HDG and ALT hold are great but that's in Aircraft where there ain't much to do when flying long distances.
Cheers.

I had the same cruise control on the 75 series Troopy and would not be without one for the
long flat roads.
Hilly country I revert to the foot.

Gossy,
I would never want to be without a cruise control in a car and I use it all the time as I find in modern cars it is too easy to gradually increase the speed without realising it. In my 4wds I never seem to use it. The troopy doesn't have the oomph to make it worth fitting whilst in the 100 series I just never find I want to turn it on. Mind you it is a bit savage and not the best to use. The CC in my last Pajero was quite good but even then I rarely used it. I think I am more alert and concentrating in the 4wd - usually more interesting driving and fun. In the car it is usually just having to get somewhere.
cheers
