Hi Everyone,
Seeing you were so helpful with my question about the ARB Fridges, I have another question for you:
Which
camping chair is the best?
We currently have Dune 4WD Overlander Chairs - which are very comfortable until summer, because they make you sweat while sitting in them! Which while we are in Kalgoorlie - makes the very uncomfortable!
Any suggestions - Please
Shell

Hi Shell P, I have one as
well and use a towel to cover it. I'm in the NT so it's hot every day but the towel stops the sweat. No towel and the chair is soaked in no time. As for another choice of chair the $7.00 bunnings special.

Those cheap flimsy folding chairs are a waste of money, I lost count how many were dumped in or near the
bins here over the tourist season, had a couple from
Canberra here for a couple weeks and they had good quality heavy duty folding chairs , the price was around the $90 - $110 range, but they won't have to buy again and again, and sorry the brand I cannot remember but the legs and main frames were around 1 inch wide.

With the coleman you have to make sure you get the one with the metal arm rests as the plastic ones break.

Hi Shell. I am in NSW so not sure if you have Kangaroo Tent City over there. I have recently purchased 2 Diamantina folding chairs and they are really comfortable. They only fold flat so could be a bit bulky for you. They have two tone
grey fabric and adjustable front legs. The back has 5 positions and they weigh 5kg each. They were $90 each after bargaining. Coleman also have a similar chair but a bit heavier. Cheers Bob

I just shouted myself an OzTent King Goanna Chair.
Though it hasn't been used to any great extent it looks pretty good. I've tried the Coleman model, and I found that over time the stitching comes apart, & they break, and this is with just normal use.
In the army we used to be able to draw from stores a folding canvas chair that was extremely robust and surprisingly comfortable. They were called 'chairs millionaire', because if you sat in one of an evening after work you felt like a millionaire.
I've had my eye out for years to see if any are available through the disposal store network, but no luck!

The 5 position Coleman chairs are excellent with another option in their range being the
space saver padded chair. They are 1 kg lighter and have hoops instead of feet which can be set up inside tents & don't sink in the sand. As with all padded chairs it's important to not get them wet as they take a fair bit to dry out.
While a bit more bulky than the quad fold type chairs, I simply got sick of repairing the feet & replacing the
dam things.
Cheers Craig............

Only problem Doug is when you open up the site and click on the chair it says "no stock available" may be a temporary thing. Bob

Lots of chairs on the market but which is best will depend on what suits your needs. You need a chair that your body is comfortable in and the only way to work that out is to go and sit in them. What looks good in a brochure just might not feel comfortable. Also depends on what space you have in your vehicle.
The bigger chairs like the Coleman jumbo take up a lot of space compared to the small models.
We now carry a pair of both the jumbos and el cheapo ones from Big W that fit into a space specifically designed for them. The el cheapos are quick to open out and are cool and easy to carry around, while the jumbos take longer to set up and are a bit cumbersome to move around, but are warmer and more comfy in cool weather.
HTH,
Cheers,
Val

Most comfortable fold up /compact
camp chair I've ever had is a Coleman - still have them - about 10 years now - very similar to this model [
this one, but
mine are an earlier version (flat solid wood arm rests). Note the high back - that is a feature. I have had to replace a few broken swivel pins where the various tubes join - only a couple of minutes, with a split pin or piece of wire. When folded into their bag, they stay long, but collapse to quite narrow. Of the true foldups, they are the best option I think. Another one to see
here. Probably the current version of ours.
