Hi All,
Has anyone camped in the Wooli area recently? What are the conditions/facilities like?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Penchy, I live in Wooli so may be able to help you, there are 2 caravan parks with the normal facilities, both close to the river and only a short walk to the beach, not to sure how full there are right now, we do have some rain but no water laying around, we do have a couple of shops and fuel also bowling club where you can get a good Chinese meal and a hotel, fishing and diving boats available. We are surrounded by the Yuraygir National park so there are many walks and drives around.

Hope this helps, Pete.

Great spot Wooli. The first van park is not what it used to be though. They built a rather ridiculous amenities block which resembles an aircraft hangar yet has a grand total of 4 x unisex traps which you have to queue to get in and they have now stopped fires, for which there used to be a fireplace on each of their lovely riverside sites. A real shame but it's probably still nice if you can go out of sch hols because it will almost certainly be booked out now. The other one is nearer the ocean beach and a bit cramped to say the least but Wooli certainly is a charming little spot. Probably better to go to one of the Nat Parks nearby such as Minnie Waters. All-round a really nice area but an hour from any shops so make sure you stock up before you go. Sorry to sound a bit negative but we used to go there a lot and feel that they really don't consider their campers needs but there are plenty of great beaches and fishing/crabbing areas. I'd prefer Red Rock nowadays, which really is a top spot with a nice natural caravan park which doesn't look like Stalag 9 and is right on the beach/estuary and a bit nearer conveniences, just over 5 mins from the Pac Hwy with a range of nearby beaches and a bowling club for meals out. All great beachside spots for a family holiday and no Big Holiday Parks run by expensive chains/groups.
