does anyone know how to connect a reverse camera to a IPAD- we use the IPAD for all mapping , music , email etc while away in the 4*4 and have found it to be great- we have managed to get everthing working with the exception of the reverse camera-
as the ipad only connects via WIFI or bluethooh I have not been able to find a reverse camera that will do this
want to put a reverse camera on the trailer but do not want another screen on the dash

Hi Ron,
Did a quick ebay search and found
this one. Don't know anything about it, but it's a start. Ebay might not be your thing, but it's a very useful catalogue!
Cheers

Hi Ron,
There are a few ways of doing this, if you can find an wireless (WiFi) IP video camera (there are hundreds of types) that physically suites your installation that would work but most are to big (or wrong shape) to be easily mounted as a reversing camera.
The next option is to use an IP video server which presents a web interface, these take any video camera with a standard composite video out such as most reversing cameras and convert it to IP which you can feed into a WiFi access point for the iPad to connect to and browse to the web interface. This solution has the benefit of letting you have more than one camera if required for off road use as
well as reversing.
Video servers are available from one to multiple ports at various price points, Jaycar do a four port (camera) version but there are loads around have a look at
Jaycar Video Server
Just make sure that both the video server, WiFi camera, and Access point can run on 12v.
