we are looking at heading upto Nug Nug in Vic for the Australia Day weekend does anyone know of good
camping spots near the river where you can have a
camp fire. We haven't been up that way before. We have a small van not an off roader though. thanks

Hi,, you would be better off going up to the start of the dam,, take the track off to the left on the bend before you go over the wall, follow it around there are some good spots along this track.
There is a way side stop just over the bridge on the left not sure on a fire place .
Nug Nug bridge that is.
cheers

Plenty of spots in that section of the
Nug Nug Reserve. Fires are allowed but the usual fire resrictions apply at this time of year.
The area with the
toilets and showers on the
creek also has fireplaces.
See their web page

we have only now got back from nug nug
plenty of
camp spots near the river
down the back and over to the right when you enter.
plenty of people there over crissy and more coming in as we left tonight at 6.30 pm.
they are expecting 500 people there over the next week but they say it will quieten down after new years
they have just finished putting bbqs in yestreday,
new
toilet block has showers but only cold
water.
camp fires allowed anywhere you like just make sure its in a pit etc and not fire ban
we were there for 5 days but didint want to come home for workin the morning
cheers
