Wondering what people are using in the way of "point of view" cameras. I am in the market for one and my main requirements are:

User friendly, remote control, HD, waterproof-not water resistant.
I am leaning towards the Go Pro 2 HD, anyone know of equal or better alternative cameras?
Regards

Peter,

I've looked a few and found the Go Pro Hero 2 to be very good. We've had them fixed to the inside and outside of the vehicles and they provide a very good quality video. The time lapse feature is another great option that we are yet to exploit to its full potential.

A couple of clips from last year by way of example.

Cheers Mick

I've seen that POV anagram used before & wondered what it meant.
Mind you I've only noticed it on sites that ask you to confirm you are over 18 before you can get in.
What exactly do you want it for Peter?

To be honest Fatso, pov is an abbreviation, not an anagram.
Softa is an anagram of fatso.

I will be using it for off road purposes, hahaha!

You know, I even looked up the dictionary to get the spelling right on that one.
Problem is I had the word wrong.
It should have been acronym.
So I guess I won't be able to see your video while surfing the other sites eh Peter.

Hi Peter,

I agree with Mick O and have been using the GoPro Hero HD on my past few trips. Great camera, a host of available accessories and a great support community.

When considering the purchase of a camera, be sure to budget for an additional battery, memory cards and carry case.

I hope this helps,

Thankyou Scott, yeah accessories. Buying the gopro is a bit like buying another 4wd, endless extras hahaha.
