We booked an onsite van with ensuite for a week over Christmas, our other family members were camping. This must be the dirtiest caravan I have ever seen, how they can rent this caravan out is unbelieveable. The shower is covered in mould, the toilet wouldn't flush and would run continuously. The musty smell was unbelievable. There was no kettle, toilet rolls, washing up liquid. The crockery supplied was so dirty that I had to go out and purchase new crockery, cutlery and a kettle, there was no way I was going to use the stuff supplied. I complained on two occasions but was told with a shrug of the shoulders that there was nothing else available. We ended up leaving two days early. The cost was $110.00 per night for two people, we had two relatives join us for two nights and they were charged $25.00 pp per night.
I spoke to the Manager when we were leaving and he just shrugged his shoulders!

Lesley,
Sorry to hear of your adverse experience, it certainly did bugga up a good holiday for your family.

Is this park affiliated with any of the big park chain (Big 4, Alpen Parks etc).

If so you could try reporting them to the applicable Head Office pointing out the issues. Most of the big park groups are very protective of their reputations and adverse comments are usually (in my experience) are taken quite seriously and acted upon quickly.

However at that time of year, all the coastal areas of the South West of WA are nearly always fully booked so it would totally feasible that there was nothing else available.
Most sites are booked for the next year as the patrons are leaving this year before so it pays to book as early as possible. This also applies at Easter as well.

Next year travell a bit further and come to Denmark, not quite as crowded, but still book as soon as you decide where you want to go.

No vested interests but happy to live there.

(that blew up on the way to Perth for Xmas...........bugga)

Hi Lesley

Wetayed at that caravan park about 10 years ago but only for a few days, but that was enough.

Vowed that we would never go back. Sorry that your holiday was spoilt.

I think that this particular park relies pretty heavily on kids staying during schoolies week.

Great publiciity relations. This sort of thing should be reported to Tourist Offices as well as the Shire Health Inspector. Then they wonder why people go to Bali! (I don't)

Why not list your complaints to Badgers caravan park review. The last entry was in 2008

Its kind of a pitty all the fat behind the cooker didn't catch a light.
When the owner asked what happened you could have shrugged your shoulders.

Cheers.

Sounds like the manager needs a size 11 foot up the ring. Disgusting. Thanks for sharing - it will be on my danger list now.

Hi Lesley.

Sorry to hear they stuffed up your holiday. I see that you have already posted feedback. Good on you.
We visit this area regularly from NZ. They are now on the blacklist.

Cheers, Case H, New Zealand.

We stayed overnight there about 5 years ago although we camped there.
It is the only park that I will freely advise others to give the place a wide berth. I think it is Council owned but obviously nothing has changed. yes we did write a letter to the council regarding the disgusting conditions there. The manager must be a brother of the mayor LOL.

hi lesley t
well old habits die hard as they say
nothing has obviously changed it has been a discusting cesspit for years and it will never change while that manager and his wife are running it
he has a hide thicker than two brick walls
there is absolutely no excuse for filth this problem goes back several years and even if you make written detail reports to the respective authorities nothing seems to change
as it seems they are all in cahoots with one another
i was caught out plus my daughter and many others
i think it is privately owned
it is definetley not what you expect when paying that sort of money
i and a lot of others know exactly how you feel and we got the shrugged shoulder response
spread the word thats the best treatment twiitter/facebook and anywhere else newspapers etc bagers caravan park reports as mentioned
sorry to hear you had a bad experience there too
cheers for the N Y
