Ironman Ice Cube compressor fridge / freezer

Anyone with first hand experience with Ironman Ice Cube fridges?(www.ironman4x4.com) Considering one for my camper - Danfoss compressor, good warranty... just doing my research. Haven't seen one in the flesh. Any comments on quality, efficiency etc. appreciated. Thanks.

I've got an Eva Kool with a Danfoss, had it for 12 years, still chills to -22 degrees if I want it to.

There are not a lot of things that can go wrong with a fridge - there are basically 3 components....the insulated cabinet, the compressor and some means of controlling the temperature. The cabinet seems to be of reasonable quality and the danfoss compressor is probably the most reliable and widely used in the world - that leaves the thermostat....these too are for the most part extremely reliable pieces of kit these days. So, IMHO the Ironman, which is probably a knock off of some other fridge, is value for money given that it is around the $500-$600 cheaper than other 'brand names'. It would, however, be good to get a look at the workmanship involved in fitting the compressor and evaporator......if this is done well I can't see too much going wrong with this fridge. You will get the Engel, Waeco, Evakool etc debate.....and the range of varying opinions on these and other makes but they all started out somewhere and Ironman is no different. If they are as good as the rest of the Ironman stable of products (including the very good customer service) then I think they would be well worth serious consideration.

I own or have owned most fridges. Recently brought 3 x 50l ironmans. No problem do far, works well, well constructed and lightweight. The only thing I've picked up are the covers are of poor quality, especially the zips. I think I paid $800 each, got to be happy with that. Only brand I have that I would NEVER buy again is Waeco.

Will.
