Can anyone advise on where to get a replacement transfer pump for my 1999 GU 4.2 TD Patrol. Pump has failed following extensive check, and bench test of pump.
Pump is a Jideco with 977 as only numbers.
many thanks, Dave.

Our Nissan one packed up years ago and we replaced it with an after market one, where do you live? If in Perth I will try and remember where we had it done, it has worked a treat so far, about 6 years now. I guess it will pack up next time we go to use it now that I've said that but, hey, six years isn't too bad. Cheers

Hey Dave

I recently purchased my fuel pump from coventrys it was a high pressure one for a petrol Patrol but might be worth a shot as I had to give exact details when ordering as was told a few were listed ,if not try repco or veales and if failing that Holley distributes in Perth they on McDonald crs bassendeen not sure of the phone number but they may be able to help as I have bought a transfer/primer pump from them and was told they are the only manufacture that makes a true diesel compatible pump.

Cheers Scott

The pump is easy to get to under the Patrol, sitting on shelf in front of chassis cross tube, just forward of sub-tank. I have removed pump from Patrol for now.

Is a Nissan pump available as spares, and how much I wonder. Is a Facet pump and mounting modification the affordable answer?

Dave I suppose it depends on your mechanical skills. The one Bucky has shown looks good but it depends on the wiring and the fittings on both pumps. I guess its up to you to evaluate. That pump on Ebay unfortunately doesn not show the fittings... regards Michael

Gentlemen, we have rectified the pump replacement issue, with purchase and installation of an aftermarket electric fuel pump: FP006, 12 volt 40kpa. Available on ebay at $40.00 (East Coast Auto Spares) Genuine Nissan replacement was priced at $742.00
The replacement pump needs re-mounting using sheet-metal adaptor plate, and 2 brass fuel hose fittings, a straight and an elbow with 1/8 NTP X 1/4 tails.
Pump comes up the same size/length for mounting.
Is now operational with sub tank switch, delivering similar transfer rate.
Pump was shock mounted using existing mount rubbers, but horizontally.
Nissan wiring connector was transferred over. Battery disconnect may be required for re-set of pump controller and sub-tank amber light.

Mine died as wel and Mr Nisan wanted 500+ from memory. I have mounted the facet pump and it transfers a lot quicker. Only problem is the sub tank controller doesn't like it and faults which can be gotten around.
