Diesel immobilisers

Hi, I was wondering what methods people use to immobilise their diesel 4WD's? I have the starting circuit and the control to the injector pump immobilised. My old troopie has no fancy electronics, nor central locking.
Anybody also installed an extra fuel shut off solenoid? Or does this introduce extra problems with air locks in the fuel line?

If you have already isolated the starter & the injector pump.......what more do you need ???

This may sound a little crazy but if you are realy worried you could fit a ball valve to one of your brake lines.

The idea is to hold your foot on the brake & lock off the valve, this will enable the brakes to held on while unattended. Let them try & figure that one out.
May result in a burnt out cluch if someone attempted to steel it but beter than losing it all together.

I did this on my old Holden V8 so i could lock off the rear brakes to do beter burnouts..........told the rego inspection guy it was a anti theft device & got away with it. LOL

Another idea that will cost you nothing but will only work against the dumb thiefs (which most are!!) and that's slip the transfer case into neutral. The engine will start and everything works but no go-go!! I do it to my mates all the time as a joke and it typically takes them a few minutes to work it out the first time (while I try holding in my laughter).

Just unscrew the steering wheel and padlock it to the rear seat frame or cargo barrier. Takes about 30 seconds on a troopy.
