Hi, the laptop I used for in car navigation using Ozi Explorer has been stolen. Fortunately all my maps, routes and tracks were always saved to a portable hard drive so I haven't lost any information.
I now have to replace the laptop. I am looking at the Acer Iconia W500 as it is a tablet which runs Windows 7and has a wireless keyboard as well as the touch screen. Does anyone have any other suggestions please. Ozi Explorer only has a beta version for Android at present so Android Os is no good plus I also already own the Windows version of Ozi so want to keep using it.

The Ozi Android version works a treat, been using it on an /Aldi Android tablet for a couple of weeks now.

Hi Peter, thanks for your reply.
On the Ozi site they list the following issues:
These are the only limitations of the trial version.

Moving map mode (communication with the GPS) will only remain active for 15 mins each time. At the end of these times a dialog will be displayed and GPS Tracking will be deactivated and must be reactivated by pressing the GPS Tracking button.
A watermark using the text "TRIAL" is drawn onto the map.

Is this how yours works?
At $25 for the Beta version it is a good deal.

I'm using oi on my Acer a500. You can register it to get rid of those limitations

Cheers

As Peter said once you register it the restrictions are removed.
It works really well, biggest prob is having somewhere to put the tablet while using it, ok if a passenger can hold it but it gets tiring so they tell me.

When you get a new setup get a copy of Prey loaded. That way you have some chance of recovering it if it's ever stolen again.
Works on smart phones too.

Thanks John,
It looks good, thanks.
How is Daisy Hill getting on now we have left LOL... We were never broken into there. This has been a new and unpleasant experience for us. Mike and Lani.

I have found this type of unit quite cheap and good for Oziexplorer. Runs windows and large storage capacity. Cheers

Looks interesting Keith, though I notice it only runs Windows CE 6 .
